Thought To Ponder:
Focus on Understanding
Do you have a problem with being misunderstood? Its easy to become frustrated when you mean well and someone intentionally or unintentionally casts a bad reflection upon you, causing a misunderstanding.
We tend to become defensive, going to great ends to straighten things out. If a simple explanation is in order, by all means one should make it. However, you can avoid stress on your part and accomplish much in the long run if you focus your efforts on understanding rather than on being understood.
An understanding person tends to think before speaking and having given though to a situation handles it with e instead of emotion. Love, genuine heartfelt love for one’s fellow man, is capable of generating understanding that will rise to the occasion causing calmness, even being misunderstood, it’s often selfishness that causes us to go on the defense.
So focus on understanding, not on being understood. It works!
