Our Message Is:

JESUS is the CHRIST, the Son of the Living God; we have no creed other than this We welcome you to Southside Christian Church It is our mission to be. . . "Leading people to Jesus, one heart at a time." We are a Church of Christ Jesus. Christ is the foundation, the head, the Savior and Lord of His church, the one He promised to build (Matthew 16:18).

We are His church, sinners saved by grace. We are knit together by God's Spirit into "a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God" (1 Peter 2:9).

We are a church seeking unity as much as possible we are trying to follow the basic biblical principles of the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42).

That is why our baptism is by immersion for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38), our communion is every Lord's Day (Acts 20:7), our leaders are called elders (Titus 1:5 - 9), our preaching is about Christ (John 3:14 - 16), and our prayers are in Jesus' name (John 15:16).

Like the earliest disciples who were called Christians first at Antioch (Acts 11:26), we use the name Christian. We are a free church like the earliest churches, ours is an independent congregation. We have no denominational headquarters to determine our policies. As a congregation, we elect our leaders, select our ministers, decide what missions we will support, and in every way determine the direction of this church by seeking God's will.
